MIPS Reporting: How to Relieve Your Staff

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently rolled out a new option for Merit-based Incentive Payment Systems (MIPS) reporting, the MIPS Value Pathway (MVP). MVP provides a new set of quality and improvement measures by specialty. While currently an optional pathway for MIPS participants, CMS plans to sunset the existing MIPS pathway and make MVP mandatory in a future year. 

Primary care practices can skip MVP reporting and work directly on quality  – and get financial credit for the work they’re already doing – by joining an Aledade ACO. 

The vast majority of our Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) ACOs qualify as Advanced Alternative Payment Models (AAPM) under CMS’ Quality Payment Program (QPP). This comes with three key advantages:

  2. Increased Fee-For-Service Rate: As of performance year 2024 (payment year 2026), QPs receive an increased physician fee schedule update based on the QP conversion factor of 0.75%. This fee-for-service rate increase is three times that of MIPS participants.
