Honors add to growing list of best employer awards for Aledade

Bethesda, MD  – For its success in fostering an inclusive and growth-oriented culture, The Washington Post and USA Today have recognized Aledade, the nation’s largest network of independent primary care, among the best companies to work for in their annual Top Workplaces rankings.

Aledade was ranked No. 3 in The Washington Post’s largest employer category among top companies in the District of Columbia area. Aledade was ranked No. 4 by USA Today in its rankings of companies with between 1,000 and 2,499 employees. Rankings by both the Post and USA Today were determined through employee engagement surveys conducted by the workplace research firm Engergage, which also awarded Aledade several other honors through its Top Workplaces program.

“Achieving the best possible outcomes for patients, practices and society starts with holistically supporting the people who power the Aledade mission,” said Mat Kendall, president and co-founder of Aledade. “We are honored to receive these accolades and committed to strengthen our culture and our workforce each and every day.”

Aledade earned a top employer ranking for the fifth consecutive year from The Washington Post. Selection for the Post’s honor is based on employee feedback gathered through an Energage-administered anonymous third-party survey which measured several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution and connection.

Aledade earned a top employer ranking for the fourth year from USA Today. Among companies that serve the healthcare industry, Aledade is one of only 19 companies nationwide to make USA Today’s list. In addition, Aledade holds the highest ranking among Maryland-headquartered companies that employ between 1,000 and 2,499 employees. USA Today’s survey, also issued by Energage, was calculated by comparing the survey’s research-based statements, including 15 culture drivers determined to predict high performance against industry benchmarks.

Aledade also recently received several 2024 Top Workplaces Culture Excellence Awards, which acknowledge organizations that excel in specific areas of work culture. Aledade was recognized for its leadership, innovation, work-life flexibility, compensation and benefits, as well as purpose and values.

As part of its competitive employee benefits package, Aledade actively promotes work-life balance with offerings such as a remote-first work culture, 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all new parents and generous paid time off – including a fully paid six-week sabbatical after six years of service. The company also holds a deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and runs an internal wellness program that supports the health and wellbeing of all Aledade staff. In addition, Aledade supports employee resource groups, which are staff-led communities that celebrate many identities and cultures and also provide input on company strategy and initiatives.

“At Aledade, we’re all about providing the best work culture possible – and to achieve that, we make the process of regularly receiving and responding to employee feedback a top priority,” said Helena Christianson, chief people officer at Aledade. “From formal processes like biannual company-wide culture surveys or quarterly checkpoints to less formal approaches like inviting thoughts and input during our weekly full-staff meetings, we work to ensure all employees can speak up and help shape improvements across all aspects of our offerings, including benefits, learning and development opportunities, programs and policies and more.”

The latest top workplace honors come on the heels of numerous other recent best employer recognitions for Aledade. Modern Healthcare selected Aledade as one of the 2024 Best Places to Work in Healthcare while Forbes magazine ranked Aledade as the No. 3 best healthcare industry startup employer in the United States. Great Place To Work® also recently selected Aledade for the fourth consecutive year on its Best Workplaces for Parents™ List.
