Aledade, the nation’s largest and most successful network of physician-led value-based care, has been named to Newsweek’s inaugural list of World’s Best Digital Health Companies in 2024.
Newsweek assessed 400 leading digital health companies in 35 countries whose technologies encompass web apps, remote appointments, medical devices, electronic health records and more. Aledade was selected as a top company in the medical management market segment, in which digital technologies are utilized to optimize the management of physician practices.
“We work each day at Aledade to revolutionize healthcare in the United States,” said Farzad Mostashari, M.D., co-founder and CEO of Aledade. “Our mission is to deliver better health, better care and lower costs and thereby create a healthcare system that is good for patients, practices and society. This recognition reflects the unrelenting efforts of Aledade’s employees who serve our practices, improve patient outcomes and elevate public health.”
Aledade’s proven playbook includes a proprietary technology platform and in-person coaching to guide practice workflows and a growing set of centralized services and programs that help independent physicians improve patient outcomes.
Aledade’s breadth spans across the entire continental United States, with more than 1,900 primary care organization partnerships in 45 states and the District of Columbia. Five of the nation’s top 10 Medicare Shared Savings Program Accountable Care Organizations belong to Aledade. The Bethesda, Md.-headquartered company also participates in more than 200 value-based contracts that represent more than 2.5 million patient lives under management. In addition, Aledade partners with a wide range of physician providers, from small practices to rural, community-based clinics to large, multi-site, suburban practices.
In this inaugural list, Newsweek and its market research firm Statista aimed to highlight the leading innovative and promising companies in digital health, defined as companies that “primarily offer digital products or services within the healthcare industry.”
The top list was based on three pillars:
- Financial performance – which included financial data from publicly available sources such as annual reports and databases.
- Impact – which assessed the quality and impact of the company’s products and services, as well as the expertise of its leadership team.
- Online engagement – which included traffic data for company apps and websites to assess the engagement of users with their product or service.
